Content Rules and Regulations
We want Sparcwire® to be your dynamic window into the real world around us, enabling discovery of relevant life insights and emerging trends that inspire ideation and critical thinking. To achieve this objective, Sparcwire needs to be an authentic and safe place for inspiration and expression. Help us foster this community by following these rules and regulations.
Sparcwire is a tool that captures what is happening and trending in life. It is a vast databank that evolves over time as life evolves. Some topics and behavior considered too risqué and not acceptable 10 years ago have entered the mainstream today. The evidence in the data bank represents what is considered acceptable in today’s society and will screen out all content that goes against our rules and regulations.
Rules & Regulations
Nudity & Sex
We know that there are times when people might want to share nude images that are artistic or creative in nature, but for a variety of reasons, we don’t allow nudity on Sparcwire. We restrict the display of nudity because some audiences within our global community may be sensitive to this type of content – particularly because of their cultural background or age.
Nudity in photos of paintings and sculptures is OK.
Restrictions on display of both nudity and sexual activity also apply to digitally created content unless the content is posted for educational, humorous, or satirical purposes. Explicit images of sexual intercourse are prohibited. Descriptions of sexual acts that go into vivid detail will also be removed.
Respect other users within the Sparcwire community.
We want to foster a positive, diverse community. It’s not acceptable to encourage violence or attack anyone based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, disabilities, or diseases. When hate speech is being shared to challenge it or to raise awareness, we may allow it.
Any content that encourages the following will be deleted:
Violent threats (direct or indirect): Content that makes threats of violence or promotes violence, including threatening or promoting terrorism.
Hateful conduct: Content that promotes violence against or directly attacks or threats other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or disease.
Private information: Content containing other people’s private and confidential information, such as credit card numbers, street address, or Social Security/National Identity numbers, without their express authorization and permission. In addition, you may not capture and input to the thought bank intimate photos or videos that were taken or distributed without the subject’s consent.
Violence and Graphic Content:
Sparcwire is a place where people capture, share and input evidence from third party sources about important issues. Sometimes, those issues involve violence and graphic images of public interest or concern, such as human rights abuses or acts of terrorism. In many instances, when people share this type of content, they are condemning it or raising awareness about it. We remove graphic images and content when they are shared for sadistic pleasure or to celebrate or glorify violence.
Please use appropriate and acceptable language. Do not use language that could be considered offensive by any reasonable viewer. Sparcwire is the sole judge of the appropriateness of any words or phrases added to comments about evidence captured and put into the Thought Bank.
You will not submit to the thought bank material that:
- violates our or any third party, proprietary or intellectual property rights;
- is sexually explicit or pornographic, exploits or presents minors in a sexual way, or promotes adult sexual services;
- encourages any illegal activity or contains information or content that is illegal;
- is obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, slanderous, hateful, or embarrassing to any other person or entity;
- is fraudulent or involves the sale of counterfeit or stolen items;
- represents an offer to trade or sell drugs, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, or other controlled material.
Right to Modify and Disclose
We do not pre-screen or approve your Content. We reserve the right to review, modify, monitor, distribute, remove, and delete your Content at our sole discretion and without notice to you.
Please note that we may need to change these rules from time to time and reserve the right to do so. The most current version will always be available at http://sparcwire.com/rules.
Thank you for following these rules and regulations and helping us create one of the best 21st century educational tools.
